CraniUS Therapeutics Secures $20M in Series B Funding | StartUp Health Insights: Week of Feb 3, 2026

StartUp Health community member CraniUS is a neurotechnology company developing an implantable platform to bypass the blood-brain barrier for long-term, programmable drug delivery. Other funding this week included massive global rounds across AI infrastructure, women’s health, insurance, clinical trials, and diagnostic tools, underscoring continued investor momentum worldwide.

CraniUS, a Baltimore, MD-based neurotechnology company in the StartUp Health Alzheimer’s & Brain Health Moonshot Community, raised $20M in Series B funding. The raise included $19M from private investors and $1M in non-dilutive funding from the State of Maryland, bringing the company’s total capital raised to approximately $40M. <source>

Decagon, a San Francisco, CA-based AI customer support and operations platform that works with various industries – including healthcare and health plans – to offer AI agents that communicate with customers and patients via chat, email and messaging, raised $250M led by Coatue Management and Index Ventures, with participation from Definition Capital, Starwood Capital, ChemistryVC, a16z, A*, Accel, Avra, Bain Capital Ventures, Elad Gil, Forerunner, Ribbit Capital, and T.Capital. <source>

Midi Health, a Palo Alto, CA-based women’s telehealth company, raised $100M led by Goodwater Capital, with participation from Foresite Capital, Serena Ventures, Advance Venture Partners, GV (Google Ventures), Emerson Collective, SemperVirens, McKesson Ventures, and Felicis Ventures. <source>

Gyde, an Austin, TX-based provider of an AI-native insurance brokerage platform, raised $60M led by Lightspeed, with participation from Optum Ventures, Crystal Venture Partners, Virtue, MVP Ventures, and others. <source>

Biorce, a Barcelona, Spain-based health AI company focused on clinical trial design and execution, raised $52M from DST Global Partners, Norrsken VC, YZR Capital, Mustard Seed Maze, and angel investors. <source>

Indigo, a Miami, FL-based AI-driven medical professional liability platform, raised $50M led by Rubicon Founders, with participation from Town Hall Ventures, Optum Ventures, and other investors. <source>

Automata, a London, UK-based developer of an AI-ready lab automation platform for life sciences, raised $45M led by Dimension, with participation from Danaher Ventures, Tru Arrow Partners, Octopus Ventures, Entrepreneurs First, and others. <source>

Recare, a Berlin, Germany-based provider of technology solutions for hospitals and care providers, raised €37M ($43.7M) led by DNV, with participation from CIBC Innovation Banking and other investors. <source>

Prenosis, a Chicago, IL-based developer of an FDA-authorized AI diagnostic tool for sepsis, raised $20M led by PACE Healthcare Capital. <source>

Corus Orthodontists, a Calgary, AB, Canada-based orthodontic partnership network, raised C$20M ($14.6M) led by ATB Financial’s Private Equity arm, with a co-investment from a Canadian family office. <source>

Sugar.fit, a Bengaluru, India-based health tech startup aiming to manage and reverse Type 2 and pre-diabetes, raised $11M led by MassMutual Ventures, with participation from Cure.fit, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Endiya Partners. <source>

When, a Chicago, IL-based workforce transitions platform to reduce healthcare costs, raised $10.2M co-led by ManchesterStory and 7wire Ventures, with participation from Mairs & Power Venture Capital, B Capital, Enfield Capital Partners, TTV Capital, and Alumni Ventures. <source>

Climatic, a New York, NY- and Miami, FL-based startup focused on lung health, raised $10M led by Lerer Hippeau. <source>

Revena, a São Paulo, Brazil-based startup building AI agents to automate medical billing in hospitals, raised $8M led by Canary, with participation from Flourish Ventures and Caravela Capital. <source>

ORamaVR, a Geneva, Switzerland-based medtech startup focused on XR-based training for medical devices and surgical robotics, raised $4.5M led by Big Pi Ventures and Evercurious VC, with participation from FORTH-ICS, Starttech Ventures, Sofmedica Ventures, and other investors. <source>

Biopeak, a Bengaluru, India-based health tech startup using AI-driven molecular diagnostics, imaging, and expert-led programs to optimize healthspan, raised $2.7M led by NKSquared. <source>

Emerald, a London, UK-based platform that blends blood testing with a dashboard for tracking trends, AI alerts for potential issues, and an assigned GP who provides diagnosis, prescriptions, and personalized action plans, raised $2M led by Boost Capital Partners, with participation from Mark Fountain, Granatus Ventures, and angel investors. <source>

Mos Health, a Polish-American startup building what it calls an “AI Health Partner” that combines personalized health protocols with matched supplements, raised €920k ($1.1M) co-led by SMOK Ventures and Movens Capital, with participation from individual investors. <source>

LifeGuides, a Tempe, AZ-based peer-to-peer mental health platform, raised $1M. <source>

AxisCare, a Waco, TX-based provider of home care management software, raised an undisclosed amount from Frontier Growth. <source>

Exxat, a Warren, NJ-based provider of clinical and experiential education technology for healthcare, raised an undisclosed amount from Accel-KKR. <source>

Origin, a Los Angeles, CA-based provider of pelvic floor physical therapy and whole-body musculoskeletal (MSK) care for women, raised an undisclosed amount led by SJF Ventures, with participation by Blue Venture Fund and Gratitude Railroad, the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank) and angel investors. <source>
